In the chapter that Lizzie becomes popular, because she is a model, there is a part when she is with Gordo and Miranda at the school. She tells them that they'll go to the Bar-Mitzva on Saturday, but the Bar-Mitzvas are made on Mondays or Thursdays.
Bar-Mitzvah services are often on Monday and Thursday. But I made my bat-mitzvah on Saturday and so did all my friends! Also, now, people refer to bar-mitzvah PARTIES as bar-mitzvahs. Parties are on Saturday night or Sunday.
That is so not true! I had my bat mitzvah on a saturday and so do most people! I go to a private Jewish school and everybody (which is the whole school) has their service on Saturdays, its the Jewish sabbath, not Thursday or Monday (even though minyans are held then) the only reason people don't have it on saturday is if they are really, really reform and don't care for reading from the torah. By the way, its spelled bar-mitzvah.
