Official Pokemon Handbook, The - Poliwhirl Into Poliwag?! I Don't Think So!
Go to the back cover of the Official Pokemon Handbook. Look where it says SECRET FACTS. It reads, "Did you know that the swirl on POLIWHIRL'S stomach changes direction when it evolves into POLIWAG?" Poliwhirl evolves into Poliwag? Shouldn't it be the other way around?
