Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. - How Can You Shoot 3 Bullets and Kill 4 People?
At the end of the movie when Austin is face to face with Dr. Evil. Dr. Evil shows Austin that Felicity is in the chamber. Austin starts shooting. Pay very close attention and listen. Austin shoots 3 bullets but 4 guys fall down dead.
Once again, I think this is supposed to be a joke. The whole movie is a joke, therefore, you aren't supposed to take anything seriously. If this were a scene in an action movie, like the shootout in Heat, and the same thing happened, then I could agree. But this is a comedy, so there.
Look i'm tired of seeing all the people who dont have a comment because they know it was a slipup so they say its just a movie. If there were no such things as slipups even in comedy's this site wouldn't be here! I think it was a mistake that he used three bullets to kill 4 people.
THANK YOU Dean32!!!!!! It's about time somebody said something! I'm sorry but I don't think the director thought to himself, "It would be really funny if we had three bullets and four people go down." If you haven't noticed, that movie rocks, they wouldn't think of something THAT retarded to throw in there on purpose, especially since 99% of the viewers wouldn't notice!!!!!!
The ONLY thing thst makes something that doesnt make sense a slip-up a slip-up is that is was NOT INTENTIONAL! If the producers did something stupid in a movie but they MEANT to do it, then it is NOT a slip up. They jumped, they didn't slip.
Perhaps Austin's gun uses "Magic Bullets", similiar to the one that the CIA claims (erroneously, I might add) that Lee Harvey Oswald used to kill JFK. Then again, maybe it's just a movie.
This was done on purpose, poking fun at the way James Bond often does similar things, I noticed this the first time I saw the movie, and my initial reaction was "HAHAHAHA!! That was a good one! Pretty damn clever!" You have to be in the right mindset to enjoy this type of movie, I think that this is why critics have such a hard time with them.
There is actually a mistake in editing in this shot somewhere. I've listened to the editors' commentary, and during this scene, where there are two Austins side by side, Mike Meyers mentions something about the graphic editors getting so wrapped up in this scene that they forgot to change something. I've watched this seen over and over, but I can't really tell what's wrong. I think the timing is off. Whatever the mistake, it does exist, and if you watch intently, the shot (viewed from behind the two Austins) is awkward.
I think that this was meant to be a joke, like the person before me (I forgot what his/her screen name was) mentioned how a cowboy in an old western can shoot one bullet and kill 100 Native Americans, or how James Bond can shoot four bullets and have killed 8 people. But if you need an explanation, it could be that one of the bullets went through one guy and then continued on to kill the other one behind him.
Obviously this film is a parody which in essence means that they are poking fun at a successful film or genre. In James Bond these things happen and in the James Bond films these are slip-ups but here the director of Austin Powers Two does these things on purpose. Also one of the guys does not go down as if he was shot but more as if he was supposed to act badly that he had been shot.
