Charmed - Did Paige Die? Or Not...?

In the fifth season episode, 'Oh My Goddess Pt. 1', Chris shows up just in time to save Phoebe but Paige has turned into stone.

Chris says, "In the history books, it shows that Paige died today." But in a later episode Chris turns into a spider demon, he and Paige are talking, and Chris says "You're the one I get money from in the future."

How could he have borrow money from Paige in his future if Paige was dead.
