While deb and Napoleon's uncle are at the bowling alley, Deb throws his ball. He has the bumpers up. But when he turns around, you can see through his left arm that the bumpers are gone. Its kinda blurry so you might have to look closely
Many (or few or perhaps all; I don't bowl often) bowling alleys have bumpers that automatically cover and uncover the gutter between the turns of each player. If this were the case, the odds are that the bumpers would be down by the time Kip turned around for this shot.
Perhaps Kip wanted bumpers while Rico did not.
