After Michael has done his stunt on the track and got out off kitt, you can see the car is just a stunt car, a normal steering weel and normal dashboard. It's on screen very clearly for about 3 seconds. In this episode you can see a normal steering wheel very often.

After showing ski-mode to Sammy, when kitt hits the ground, press 'pause' on you dvdplayer. You will see a stuntman holding his hand to a mounted metal grip near kitt's left mirror.
