Fast forward to the part when the family leaves Kevin at home. When Kevin is thinking “I made my family disappear”, the guy who says “Look what you did, you little jerk,” never said that. It was his uncle, not the guy who shovels the snow. And the uncle never said it that way.
I don't understand how this "slip-up" got such high votes. First of all, the uncle who called Kevin a little jerk is the same guy who says it during the "I made my family disappear" scene, NOT the guy shoveling the snow. Second of all, I think the uncle saying, "look what you did, you little jerk", in a meaner way in Kevin's mind was intentional.
What 'bout Kev's sis who speaks French during that scene? Did she suddenly become fluent? And how can Kevin understand her anyway when he can't even pack a suitcase?

Man, really watch the movie again. I haven't seen it in over a year and I can tell you exactly where is uncle Frank said that. It was at the scene where they are eating pizza and Kevin pushes Buzz and all the family's milk dumps all over everything, and Frank says, "Look what you did you little Jerk!"
Granted when Kevin thinks back after his family leaves him, the tone in Frank's voice is different, but that's not important. What's important is that he said it.
His uncle does says it . I just watched the movie . His manner is different . That is just because they re-filmed Peter Boyle ( the actor who played the uncle )saying that line . Don't ask me why . Kevin's brother didn't say that about the tarantula originally . Unless they have another version of the movie .
i remember the conversation buzz has with kevin..he says nothing about feeding anyone to his tarantula..the other boy with buzz asks buzz whos gonna feed his tarantula while hes gone..when kevin came in he just asked if he could sleep in buzz`s room the buzz says "i wouldnt let you sleep in my room if you were growing on my ass!" (i just wanted to type that even though it wasnt necesary)
At first glance, these seem like legitimate slip-ups. Anyone can notice them. But you can't rule out the possibility that the director may have wanted them that way because it is Kevin's recollection of the events that just happened. Maybe the director is exaggerating Kevin's memories since Kevin genuinely believes that he made his family disappear.
buzz did say that i'm going to feed you to my tarantula or whatever in the scene where kevin goes into his bedroom and their cousin(i think) is there, then they tell him about the snow shoveler dude. also, kevins uncle does say look what you did you little jerk when kevin hits buzz for eatting all the cheese pizza, and he spills milk or something, then the pepsi spills. i was addicted to this movie when i was younger, so i am kind of an expert ;o)
