Pirates of the Caribbean (The Curse of the Black Pearl) - Water Fall
When the ship Will Turner is trapped in gets blown up, he is maybe 100 feet away from the Black Pearl. Elizabeth, on the Pearl yells out "Will!" and he just pops up. Did he swim all that way in like 10 seconds?
He obviously got out of there before the ship blew up or e would have been dead. So he had a head start and 100 yards isnt that far i can swim it in under a minute.
that's an easy one. no, he didn't swim all that way in ten seconds. did you see him actually jump off right as it exploded? no, he had already escaped before the ship exploded.
The way that the two shots are cut together (Will in the ship and the ship exploding) makes it look as if there is no time between them, but this cannot be true for all the stated reasons. Just bad editing.
Just a point.....we all know how the pirates captured the ship Will was on, transferred the 'prisoners' to the Black Pearl, tied them up, and travelled to a safe distance before the other ship blew up, surely Will had enough time to swim that short distance between the ships, while the 'prisoners' were being transported, and tied up?
Although one of my fave movies ever (havin johnny and orlando helps) this movie had MILLIONS of mistakes - apparently the most ever in any 'newer' movie according to magazine surveys. This part of the movie however isnt a real slip-up... the editors woulda picked it up.. if they had let Will take the normal amount of time to get away the viewers woulda got bored so they cut some time out. If your gonna enter a slipup about POTC,at least make it a good one
