In the Pokemon episode were Ash & Co see a movie director and Psyduck gets to be the Co-star, when the director is bragging, he says he won the golden Growlithe but when the award is shown in the background it is a golden ARCANINE the evolved form of a Growlithe! How could they get this wrong?
Simple as this (well not really but this makes it seem a lot more reasonable ^_^) Officer Jenny makes the same mistake and reffers to Growlithe as Arcanine. Apparently anyone over 20 has a problem with those two names =) but, here's the deal. The "Golden Growlithe" award sounds good in english. In Japanese, Arcanine sounded better, so-- aww great, to tell you the truth, I have no explaination. They screwed up O_O
Yeah, I noticed this the first time I saw it. Sure, Golden Growlithe sounds better than Golden Arcanine, but that Pokémon was clearly an Arcanine and they should have called it one. Nice slip-up.
