This slip-up is in the episode, "Bye, Bye, Birdie."
Near the end, Joey walks into Stephanie and DJ's room. Joey says, "Hey, I'm bringing Michelle to ice cream. Who wants to come?" Stephanie replies, "I do...not." DJ says something to Joey, but she addresses him as Jerry! I think it was something like, "Thanks anyway JERRY, me and Kimmy are going to the mall."
Um, she probably says Joey. You will notice that D.J. has a "Valley Girl" accent and Joey would sound like Jerry. Say Joey like, "Jowie" and you will notice it sounds quite a bit like "Jerry."
It makes absolutely no sense that she would call him "Jerry". When name slip happens, it's because someone calls the actor by his real name, rather than by the character name. But the actor portraying Joey is named Dave. I think you misheard, since it's highly unlikely she pulled a completely unrelated name out of thin air like that.
