The three losers are in their SUV about to leave for the big party. They use the classic joke here of driving about 50 feet to the party. They drive right past a tree covered in Spanish Moss. Spanish Moss only grows in the South Eastern United States along the coast. The movie was set in Southern California, and that is shown when the girl drives to LAX airport at the end of the movie.
