When Merlin walks up the hill to see the Saxon's army (about 89 minutes in to the movie) you can see the castle's gate is open. Only a couple seconds later when we see the Saxons walking toward the castle, the gate is closed.

Only seconds after that when the Saxons are getting close, we get a first person view running toward the gate that suddenly is wide open again.
