During the scene were Peter Parker enters a burning building to save a little girl, there are flames everywhere but there is no smoke to be seen anywhere.
Actually, there is usually very little smoke in the immediate area of of heavy open flame. Yes, there will be a lot of smoke rising from the building, and smoke in adjacent areas, but immediately around the flame has so much turbulent air around it that there's no smoke.
