Family Guy - In Chitty Chitty Death Bang
This episode involes Peter wearing a Dukes of Hazards watch. (He loses it in Cheesy Charlie's claw machine.) Well, toward the end of the episode, when he goes to get Meg from her new friend's party, he doesn't have the watch on, then he looks at his WATCH to see what time it was (preventing him from drinking the youth cult's poison). The watch came out of nowhere.

I've heard of this type of thing refrenced on a Simpson's commentary. Matt Goening explained it as convenient props. Where, for example, a character who doesn't normally where a watch. Rather than have the artists draw/paint a watch on the person for the entire episode, the watch only appears during the 2 or 3 seconds that it's needed. Makes it easier for the artists to keep the character "on model", as he put it. And most viewers either don't notice, or don't care.
