The shot in which Ron is dry happens minutes later in the movie, but is supposed to be much later in the party. At least long enough for him to dry off with a towel, find his robe, put it on, get another drink, AND meet up with Brian. We don't see all these other events occur because they're not important to the story. Much like this non-existent slip-up.
