In about the first third/second third of the movie, Atreyu and his horse walk through some mud that acts like quick-sand. Atreyu's horse starts to sink and he's almost shoulder/neck high, but in the next scene, he's about stomach high, then it keeps going back and forth. Maybe he can't make up his mind, should he be fearful or not?!
