At the beginning when mort goes into the motel, he closes his car door. then when the camera backs out of the room the door is open.

MrsDourdan writes:: Actually, we hear the car door slam shut, not see it. But in the shot where it's open again, the cops have already arrived. It's possible that they opened the car to ascertain that no one was inside. The whole shot isn't a smooth motion, there's time that lapses between him storming into the room and then the pan back out of it.; 15 of 6576 found this helpful. Did you?
