Dodgeball - Wrong Year... New Math?
When the commercial for Globo-Gym is playing in the beggining of the movie, there is a picture of White Goodman that is said to be taken in 1987 where he is fat. White Goodman says that this was him 6 years ago. That would mean that the story is taking place in 1993. However, when the opening title for ESPN 8 comes on, the announcer says that they have been around since 1999.

I didn't notice that, but maybe it said 1997, and you just need to get your eyes checked. If I do spot it, though, I'll come back and post a different reply.

it is 1987 and White Goodman says "That was 6 years, and 600 pounds ago" However, When Peter talks to Lance Armstrong, Lance says that he's the 5 time tour de france winner, however, in 1993 he hadn't won 5 tour de france championships. Either it's a suttle way to show how stupid White and saying he cant add, it's an old infomercial, or it's just a plain old error.

If you watch the commentary, they say that it wasn't a mistake. He says that he thought "6 years 600 lbs ago" sounded good; I don't think it takes away from the movie.

Also, Peter gets a phonecall from Videorama that states that he has the some overdue DVDs (a video format not around in 1993) one of which is Mona-Lisa's Smile which was a 2003 Movie!

They do mention it on the commentary that the alliteration of the phrase sounded good. However it is still a slip-up because the math still doesn't work.

You never know it could have been an Old Commericial, its a good point and I have heard the commentary but there are countless times where the commercials on T.V. are old. Who knows? It remains a mystery.

Maybe the year was printed wrong. Maybe it should of said 1997
