During The Stepford Wives (2004), there are many time the boom microphone drops into the scene. It happens so many times that it is hard to recall all of them!

One time it happens is the first time Joanna (Nicole Kidman) goes to Bobbie's (Bette Midler) house. The women are having a conversation when the camera zooms in and the microphone drops in.

Another time is when Joanna has baked a ton of muffins, cookies and other goodies (trying to be more domesticated) and Bobbie and the gay friend come over to Joanna's house.

It seems to happen when the camera goes from a wide shot to a closeup of two or more people.
