In the ending scene of Braveheart when they talk of the Scots being warrior poets this is what most people saw/heard:
"In the year of our lord 1314,
patriots of Scotland, starving
and outnumbered, charge the fields of Bannockburn. They
fought like warrior poets.
They fought like Scotsmen
And won their freedom."
I went to see Braveheart 12 times at the theater. My first two viewings were just when it was released and I went two nights in a row. THIS is what was in the movie:
"In the year of our lord 1314,
patriots of Scotland, starving
and outnumbered, charge the fields of Bannockburn. They
fought like warrior poets.
They fought like Scotsmen
And won their freedom.
FOREVER."
The word "forever", which is ludicrious and totally untrue, was removed in later releases. If you have the movie soundtrack CD -- the first ones released -- however, check the inside cover. Mine has the word "forever".
