During the Shrieking Shack scene where Peter Pettigrew is transformed from a rat into a wizard, he is transformed with clothes on. Later on outside of the Whomping Willow, when Peter transforms back into a rat, he leaves his clothes behind. Is he now running around naked?
What about when he went from rat to person the first time? Where did his clothes come from then? I guess he could find a place that buys tattered rags, and then transform back and forth, selling his new clothes each time.

Definately a mistake. Especially since Sirius keeps changing from dog to human and he never ends up running around naked. The only possible explaination I can come up w/ is maybe you have to choose what you want to transform, concentrate on bringing the clothes with you. Even then, why Pettigrew would choose to abandon his clothing when it could be used as evidence and when he would end up starkers is beyond me.

This is something more with the books then just with the movies. What happens to clothes when people transform is never really addressed. Im sure there is some expination as to what happens to them. It is magic after all.

If my bad memory serves me, when Prof. McGonagal(sp?) transforms into a tabby cat, there are spectacle shaped lines around her eyes(in the book).

When Sirius or Prof. McGonagal change from their Animagi form to human (and vice versa) their clothes don't go anywhere. Also you can't just choose what animal you want to be whenever. You have to be registered at the Ministry so they don't get confused.

This is just my thought but i think that when he was transformed into a rat he was wearing them clothes at the time so now he has been transformed back he is wearing the same clothes.

Probably when he changed into a rat he was wearing clothes but then he was a rat for over ten years, so maybe his changing was so out of touch, his clothes didnt disappear as they would have, had he not been rusty

1. Think of the ratings an old naked guy would cause.
2. Would you really want to see what Peter looked like naked after all those years?

Hey, I'm personally grateful they slipped that up. If I had to see a character naked in that movie, it definitely wouldn't have been ol' Petey.

I don't think this was a slip-up It's suppose to be a Kid's movie, imagine how many poor kids would be crying in the cinema if Peter would have been naked when he transformed. Come to think of it I think I would have cried too.

Well considering that there are trees that will try to crush you if you get too close I really don't think we need to be concerned about where his clothes went.

Think about it, If McGonnagall was to be naked when she turned back from being a tabby cat, most, if not all of the students would be mentally scarred! in the first film she transforms infront of Harry and Ron's class and tells them off for being late.
Therefore the clothes of the animagus go with them. The only obvious exeception to this rule is Remus, who isnt an animagus, he is a Werewolf.

ya its like the old TV show the animophs....they transfer back and forth and they have there clothes on. but that is a good point. i think its in part 5 that Sirius transformed back into the human at the train station but he was naked ! so he quickly put on his robe/coat.
but i don't know why the guy wasn't naked after he turned bk from being the rat.
