In the scene where Ralphie's mom is dressing Randy to go to school ("Randy looked like a tick about to pop"), whenever Randy is shot from the back, I believe the mittens (idiot mittens, you know the ones with a string attaching them to each other) are off his hands. When the scene is shot from the front, the mittens are on his hands. In any case, when you see the dressing scene shot from one angle the mittens are on, and when shot from the opposite angle, the mittens are off.
