Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone/Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - Snakes Don't Blink!
This slip-up can be found in the beginning of the movie, where the whole family goes to the zoo for Dudley's birthday. It takes place in the reptile room, while Harry is talking to the snake. Then, VERY specifically, the snake blinks. BUT... snakes do not have eye-lids, therefore, the cannot blink! They lick their eyes!

They did this to make the snake look more human so it looks more realistic when it talks.

'Real' Snakes don't talk english either, but I'm sure eveyone who read the book and/or watched the movie was willing to see past that. So yeah, it was meant purely as a means to make the snake more human-like in charaacter.

Snakes CAN blink!! In Harry's world..DUH....Oh yeah isnt this story fiction?? If he can do magic( which is impossible ) then the snake can blink too( which is also impossible )

In relation to Pinky and Vampiress's remarks i have this to say snakes dont blink nor do they lick their eyes they have membranes that flash over ocassionally(like crocs). When the the snake is talking to harry we hear it speak english because harry hears it speak english. It is'nt really talking english. Its like in the Chamber Of Secrets where Ron and Hermione confront Harry about being a Parselmouth. Harry did'nt realise that he was speaking in a different language. Parselmouths don't realise speaking different,to them they are speaking normal English. This is also because the snake was from Burma and did'nt have an accent its becease people--dont--realise--there--speaking--a--different--language. I hope that clears things up.

Actually snakes cannot wink or blink, nor do they have the nictating membrane which slides over the eye like a crocodile. Snakes eyes are fixed open, and only the pupil can move to adjust to varying light conditions

Actually, snakes don't have flashing membrane either. A snake's eyeball is covered by a transparent scale, just like the rest of their skin. In fact, when they shed their skin, the clear scale is visible in the skin as well, just like a clear plastic dome.

THE SNAKE TALKS, HE SNAKE TEASES DUDLEY, UNDERSTAND THAT THESE ARE MOVIES AND HALF THE STUFF IN THEM AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE REALISTIC SO STOP FINDING THESE TINY STUPID REALITY ERRORS JUST SO YOU CAN HAVE SOMETHING YOU FOUND ONLINE!!
