In the second to last battle scene when the Scots are fighting the English the camera zooms in on William (Mel Gibson).

In the background, it is very clear that someone playing an English soldier has been told to stop acting out the fighting by the director because as he raises the sword above his head, ready to smash someone to pieces, he suddenly drops his arm and walks away!
