Ace Ventura: Pet Detective - Where'd That Ring Come From?
In the movie Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Ace finds the stone from a championship ring from the Superbowl. He later distinguishes it to belong to Ray Finkle, the kicker from the Miami Dolphins that lost the 1984 (i think) Superbowl game. The only question i have, is if they lost the Superbowl, how did they get the ring in the first place???

This slip-up isn't a slip-up after all. If you watch the movie then you will notice that the ring is an AFC championship ring, not a Super Bowl ring. To get to the Super Bowl you must win either the AFC or the NFC championship game. And as any football fan would know you then recieve a AFC/NFC Championship ring if you lose the Super Bowl, as the Dolphins do in the movie.
