In "The Sum Of All Fears" the terrorist bodyguard Ahmed breathes in plutonium oxide. Upon visiting a doctor for the first time, he muses about how although he has seen many battles he himself has never been wounded.

Later, after his condition growns more serious, his commander Qati is trying to decide whether to send him to another doctor. He decides he must because Ahmed once took a bullet for him.

So was he ever wounded before or not?
