Lord of The Rings: Fellowship of The Ring - Arwen's Necklace
When Arwen and Aragorn are at the bridge in Rivendell, you can see the necklace around her neck, then all of a sudden, it's in Aragorn's hand, without her moving to take it off or anything. I've seen the movie nine times (yes, I know, geeeeek) and I just can't see an explanation for it, unless she used Elvish magic or something. :P Slip-up!
If you didn't notice in the scene of Arwen's necklace, Strider is surprised that it was in his hand. It's not a slip-up, it's part of the mystery that surrounds elves.
BULL that's what i say, Bull! Listen, if you ever read the book or know that the movie was edited you would know that there is an edited out scene where the necklace is given to him, and he cannot accept it! WAIT UNTIL THE LONGER VERSION COMES OUT, YOU'LL SEE!
it's obvious that between shots she takes it off and gives it to Aragorn, but you just don't see it. If Peter Jackson put everything like that in the movie, it woulb at least 5 hours long.
Bluebunnie is right about that slipup with Arwen's necklace. Elves are very mysterious creatures and bluebunnie said that Aragorn was very surprised that the necklace was in his hand...if you didn't see that, then watch the movie again.
I would just like to say that you are not a geek. 9 times is not TOO many! I myself have seen it over 21. If you have seen it AT LEAST 10 times or more, say "yes" to this comment. Then you will know the average of how many people have seen it a lot.
I have the extended edition and it goes like this: He looks at evenstar at her neck, then he looks into her eyes. She tells him "The light of evenstar is mine to give to whom I wish...like my heart" and he suddenly seems surprised, and then he opens his hand and evenstar is inside. She is an elf and she did it with magic.
I really think that Arwen used some Elven magic to get the necklace into Aragorn's hands. But even if it wasn't Elven magic, showing her taking it off isn't very necessary, isn't it?
