Space Cowboys - Well Travelled Scorpion
In the beginning of the movie, Clint Eastwood picks up a scorpion from the desert ground. It is a large, black scorpion about 6 inches long. It is a *pandinus imperator*, or Black Emperor Scorpion, native to Africa, and NOT a desert scorpion. You'd think they'd be able to find a REAL American scorpion while they were filming in the desert!

That wasn't Clint Eastwood; the actor in question was John Mallory Asher, who played the young version of Jerry. Jerry is portrayed in the movie by Donald Sutherland.
