Aside from the total grossness quotient of that dude having his eyeball ripped out during the last game, there was a minor boo boo as well. If you notice, his whole eye plus the optic nerve was laying on the turf when the medical guy picked it up. From the standpoint of medical science, it's impossible to rip the whole eyeball out of the eye socket without breaking the eye socket, and even though it did look like the guy's eye socket was broken, it's virtually impossible to get the whole eye out without bruising or breaking it in some manner. In addition, it is absolutely impossible to pull the whole eye plus a foot and a half of optic nerve out. The eye just doesn't work that way. The eye might pop out but it wouldn't pull the nerve out with it, nerves are really very fragile and the nerve would snap at the retina before it got pulled right out of his head.
