Twister - Hands Free Radios
At various places in the movie Bill and Jo are heard argueing (both in the truck and out) by the others over the radio when no one is holding or 'keying-up' a mike. One scene toward the end shows a close-up of a radio which isn't even turned on seeming to broadcast while they're in the street picking up the plastic sensors. They're nowhere near the radio yet Bill's girlfriend can hear the conversation from miles away!

Most CB type radio's have a switch where you can key the mic and lock it. Thus you can talk without holding the mic.

The CB can also be set for VOX, (I think that's what it's called). With that voice activation cann turn it on or off. Also, they are wearing wireless headsets. I found no mistakes when it came to any part of the movie that involves the radio.

Yes it is called VOX. You can see through most of the movie that when they are traveling they seen to have no problem with hands-free communication.
