Fellowship of the Ring (Lord of the Rings) - Bilbo or Frodo?
On page 466 of the book, in the chapter called "The Mirror of Galadriel", after Frodo finished the song, this is what it says:
'Why, you'll be beating Mr. Bilbo next!' said Sam.
'No, I am afraid not,' said Bilbo [they meant Frodo!] 'but that is the best I can do yet.'
If you have not read the book, Bilbo is very good at making songs. Frodo made a song and Sam thought that he was better than Bilbo. Bilbo was in Rivendell at the time and they were in Lothlorien, so Bilbo wasn't even there. He meant to say Frodo instead of Bilbo.

This is the person who wrote the slip-up. I have the 1978 version of the book so maybe they corrected it, but I'm absolutely sure they said Bilbo(in my version) because I have the book right in front of me.

It is in the 1975/78 (one of them, maybeboth) version. I don't know when it was fixed but noticed this the first time I read them.

I have a copy of the oldest version, and it does, indeed, say Bilbo. Well spotted!

This is a proven slip-up, and visible in only a few early editions, as it was caught onto pretty quickly.
