At the beginning of the film, we see Wadsworth throw the two dogs a bone and tie them up. We can clearly see that they are Alsatians.
Later, Mr Boddy tries to escape through the conservatory but gives up when one of the dogs jumps up snarling at the window. The dog has now magically changed into a Rottweiler!
And just for the record the first two dogs were german sheppards. and the second one at the window was a doberman pincher look closer next time

Dude. Not even close. Okay okay this could be a slip-up but hey, if you see the first scene, you can see that the dogs are TIED and there are WALLS behind the doghouse. There is also a possibility that this dog is for the backyard of the house. According to the way the house is made, the conservatory is on the back part of the house.
