Because the break dancing was so fantastic, you may not have noticed, but I am one who pays attention to the background - training I've acquired from watching "Airplane" movies. Anyway, while the break dance battle is going on at the Roxy, Rae Dawn Chong's character and "Robert" are standing in the front of the crowd with their friend in a pinkish dress watching the battle. Watch the friend - she shifts in and out, close to Rae then far away from her throughout the scene.

It's funny to watch, even though the moves (not the friend's) are spectacular!
