When the mariner first shows his lemontree, there are 3 lemons on it. After the thief steals them from him, he holds five lemons in his hands. Counting can sometimes be hard...
Also, did you realize that the Mariner traded a handful of dirt for that plant, but the pot must have two or three times that much dirt in it? It's like buying a $100 gold piece for $20.
Actually Mark, you're on the right track except the fish-man had the lemon tree plant from the beginning of the movie. We never saw where it came from. He actually traded a handful of dirt for a tomato plant.
This claim is wrong. I have the image freeze framed right now, and clearly see five lemons on the tree. Please be sure of an error before attacking a movie.
The Dirt he trades for the Tomato plant is pure Dirt(hence why the trader tastes it),, its a fact that most plants will grow in 11% dirt 89 % other materials . so infact he traded his dirt that will be probably "diluted" just as the dirty he recived in the plant pot.
