After Malcom, Eddie, and Nick, get to the island and are watching the Stegos (Before Sarah comes.) Nick pulls out a silver camera. (Its held kind of up and down.) The shot goes off of him and when it comes back he has a different one! Then when it shows him again there it is!
Actually, there is a slip-up just as described. It's obvious that Nick is a photographer and carries several cameras. But Nick is shooting with a black SLR, (I believe it's a Nikon F5), then, as Jeff Goldblum crosses in front of him, ("Yeah, Ohhh, Ahhh, that's always how it starts. But later there's running and screaming.), it shows him switch to the silver upright camcorder with the flip-out LCD screen. Then the shot cuts to just Nick and the other guy, (Jeff isn't in the shot), and Nick is back to holding the Nikon. There's no indication that additional time has passed. The switch in cameras is in an instant.
