The lights are not normally on UPS since the cost of UPS is prohibitive. The center would be on a backup generator circuit, the UPS are mainly used to keep the computer CPU from crashing and to hold the computer running until the backup generator to come on line. Computer monitors are not normally on the UPS since they would draw so much current it would drain the batteries in the UPS too quickly.
