Toward the end of the original movie, the monster is about to blow up the lab. He tells the Dr. and his wife to leave, as they should not die with him. The Dr. and his wife go out the door and are seen running from the castle. The scene changes back to the lab, and as the monster pulls the switch, the Dr. and his wife can be seen cowering in the corner.
