Was this in the original or the dubbed? cause the dubbing people might have missed that fact when they wrote the script...

I don't think Vegeta's dad's hair was actually red. I mean , the only place I saw Vegeta's dad was in a memory where everything was sort of reddish.

I have seen the dubbed version.I never found Vegeta telling anything about Saiyans having black hair. But he does say that a Pure Saiyan's hair never change. (he meant the look of hair not the color)
