In the beginning of the movie when the guys have just left the NY State border, they go over a green bridge. Later on, right after they leave the University of Austin, while E.L. is talking to Josh about what happened with Tiffany, they are driving over the same green bridge. They definitely aren't anywhere near NY, cause it still takes them two days to get home.
