Watch the final battle scene carefully. If you watch the extras in the background, you'll notice them fighting extraordinarily slow and very mechanical in their actions.
Very true, especially in the big battle, you can see some pathetic posing sword-clinking going on. But look at it like this: I speak as a guy who spent weeks choreographing and performing a single, 4-minute, 2-man sword battle. Can you imagine doing the same thing for hundreds of people? It's really not that big a deal.
Not to mention that they are all being bombarded by arrows, and that pretty much would soften your resolve. A good blood lust always leaves when all hope is taken away.
