Fast and the Furious, The - Apparently Everyone Raced
In the 4 car street race, most of the notable side characters who are at the beginning of the race (Hector, Dom's crew, the girl for Edwin, etc.) are at the finish line also. Unless they had their own race down a side street to the finish line, they wouldn't be at the beginning to see the cars off and end of the race to greet them.
ACTUALLY all four cars came to the starting line again after the race...remember brian comes later then everyone else next time watch the movie more then once

They all drove back to the starting line when the race was over. Why else do you think it took Brian the longest to get there? Remember, he was in 2nd but spun out. So he would be the longest returning. And he was.

Also if you look, at the end of the 4 car race they cross the green finish line and then you see them drive back across the red start line. so the crowd didn't shift places.

at any street drag I've ever been to after the race they always come back to the start line and if you notice time has elapsed from the end of the race to when they pull up to the start line.
