I Know What You Did Last Summer - The Ice Isn't Cold
Have you noticed right at the very end, just as Julie is finding Barry's body in the ice pit in the trailer, that the ice doesn't seem to be cold and is incredibly lightweight for frozen water? It looks like some sort of plastic. Why didn't they use the real thing?
okaaay....what r u talking about they didn't want to make a movie star sick. hello, thats a dummy. it's obvious, the skin's all plastic and rubbery, and the eyes are dialated and the skin's blue and stuff...its not a real body...jeez..and they didn't use ice, cuz Jennifer Love Hewitt was walking around and running around in it from a killer and she HAS to be faster then that. so they made it easier for her to run through. jeez louise
Jeez Louise indeed...I'm fairly certain Star was referring to Jennifer Love Hewitt as the movie star they didn't want to make sick, hon. And as for the fake ice...it's a movie. Sheesh.
Plus, did you see how much ice there was? They probably didn't want to spend a whole bunch of money on ice, that will eventually melt, when they could put towards something else to make the movie even cooler for us who look at every detail!
Its a movie, therefor that scene would most likely have been filmed in a set. If they'd have used real ice it wouldn't take long for it to melt, with all the lighting they use. They probably wanted to avoid ruining their set (seeing it could take more than one take to get right) by flooding it with melted ice and also avoid flooding their studios!
They use fake stuff in place of real snow and ice a lot. In the old days - they used to use corn flakes for snow and had to dub noise because you could hear the corn flakes crunching when people walked.
