On some of the front covers of copies of Flowers For Algernon, there is a picture of a boy and a girl putting flowers in a pond. Above it, it says Charly. (the "r" is backwards.) In the book though, Charlie spells his name, "c-h-a-r-l-i-e."
He also, knows how to spell it himself. Since the "r" is backwards on the cover, I assume it was supposed to be him who wrote it. That would mean that he doesn't know how to spell his name in the book, but he does know how!?!?
