2. There is a "shark scene" during which the kids are in an underwater cave trying to get past sleeping sharks.
Sharks have to move in order to get oxygen through the water, and they move constantly, even when they're "asleep." If the sharks had been motionless, they would be dead.
This is true, however, some species of sharks do not need to constantly move forward, such as the Nurse Shark, but the sharks in the movie look like Great Whites, so this probably is indeed a slip-up.
Indeed you are correct. I have also recently found out that since sharks do not have air bladders (as fish do), they must swim constantly to stay afloat.
