In the movie, when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, it should have been darker. The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor around 5 o'clock. It wouldn't have been that light out.

I don't see why it couldn't be light outside. I don't know about the US, but in England at either 5am the Sun can have risen or 5pm, the Sun hasn't set.

I was at Hawaii a couple of weeks ago, and I had to wake up early to watch the sunrise. Most times about 4:30 AM. It's light very early in Hawaii.
