Anne of Green Gables - Anne and the Mystery Crew
God bless windows! They are a source of endless entertainment to your Grade-A movie nitpicker. Go rent Anne of Green Gables. I know I shouldn't, but I just love this film. It makes me smile. No part more so than when Anne arrives at the Bright River train station, early on in the piece. She tells the Station Master that she'd rather wait for Matthew outside.
"So much more scope for the imagination!"
Well, ain't that the truth. Isn't Megan Follows just the perfect Anne?
Anyhow, as Anne stands in front of the station, staring wistfully skyward, the camera pans past her. And PAST THE STATION WINDOWS. That's right, you can see the entire camera crew reflected! And what nice bunch they are. Real salt of the earth types. Hell, press the pause button and you can pick out the labels on their clothing.

Being an Anne of Green Gables fan I had to check this slip up out for myself. And I've just finished watching the part your speaking of again and again. And I can at no point see the crew reflected in the windows of the station. Anne does stay out side, but she is sitting on the bench the whole time, and right after she tells the Station Master that she'd like to stay outside he leaves, and she looks around a little worried, then it's switched to a scene of Avenlea. I'm assuming that you were commenting on the Megan Follows version with Colleen Dewhurst and Richard Farnsworth.

You had me worried there for a second. Admittedly I hadn't watched the film in a while, so I've just dragged myself out to the video store, in order that I might be 100% certain. Had I confused two scenes in my memory? Well, no I hadn't. It's there alright, but perhaps I exaggerated the clarity of it. As the scene begins, the camera pans down over the BRIGHT RIVER sign onto Anne. To her left is a seat beneath a window. After some people move away she sits down. It is NOW that Anne's window friends make their appearance. The camera moves from from right to left with the focus being kept on Anne. If you watch the window above her head will see the crew moving the camera dolly on it's way. Admittedly the reflections at the beginning are somewhat open to interpretation, but the further the camera moves, the easier it is to see. The clearest image occurs about half a second before the camera stops. You can easily make out a crew member in a T-Shirt pushing the camera. Look for his brightly lit arm. Sorry, but it's there. Look again.

Well, I watched the scene. And yes, there certainly is ONE crew member. He's wearing a black t-shirt with the sleeves cut off, but he's the only one I could see. Maybe it's my old TV, but I didn't see any others.
