Battlefield Earth - Fire Without Air?
This is what I like to call a mistake with in a mistake (since Battle Field Earth was in my opinion, a mistake.) In the scene where the psyclos are chasing the hero through their dome thing, which they pumped with whatever it is that they breath, there are several of the slaves inside working with fire. Fire can only exist with oxygen, and there was no oxygen in the dome.

This is so right, you beat me to the punch. I also noticed that. I think the director and producer needs to take a class in basic chemistry

Ok folks, lets think about this, the sun is a giant ball of gas, floating in space which creates its own oxygen by the chemical reactions and fussion it creates. What makes it so difficult to believe that fire could happen inside the dome, humans do not use all of there lungs so if there where high amounts of carbon monixed which happens on planets with little atmospheres the human lungs could not survie. But if the aliens in this movie used more of there lung space they could easily surivive in a world with low-oxygen but there would still be enough for fire.

Our atmosphere contains many gases; the oxygen we use in respiration is only one part of it. What makes you think that there couldn't be any oxygen in the Alien's atmosphere? Just because some part of their atmosphere is poisonous to humans, it doesn't mean there is not sufficient oxygen to allow a flame to burn. Sorry - Close, but no cigar.

Last I checked, no human knew everything there was to know about science and chemical reactions. You think that fire needs oxygen to burn, which may be correct, but what you know and what you think you know are two different things. Why don't you think about what you know and try to know instead of think next time.

They breathe as Terl put it in the book 'Proper breathe-gas' wich does not contain oxygen.
