At the point in Dr. Dolittle when he's talking the the guniea pig for the first time, the guniea pig makes it quite clear that animals CANNOT understand humans. Now when Dr. Dolittle is waiting in the waiting room for the veterninarian to check out the dog, you hear the woman SCREAMING at her dog to sit, then looks over to dolittle and says "he's deaf". Then the dog makes the comment "I'm not deaf, I just don't want to hear her" so if animals can't understand HUMANS, how did this dog understand HER? They should have been consistant -- can animals understand humans, or not?
