Right after they are leaving the spa, you hear Luke Wilson's character talking however the sound is different from the rest of the movie and you don't see his lips moving at all. Then as she gets out of the car he says goodbye and it's back to normal.
It's the way he talks, without moving his lips much. he talks like this in home fries and if you watch any movie with his brother, owen wilson in it, owen talks the same way.
