In the beginning of the movie, they show Charlie leaving for work on his motorcycle, and it shows his kids sitting outside building something. They look like they're about three or four in this scene, which would make it 1986, give or take a year. as Charlie drives away, you see a white car coming towards the camera, it's an Oldsmobile Achieva. They didn't have that model of car until the late 90's...
